There are 3 levels of time investment in fawn rehabilitating. They all require training.
- Minimal: transporting fawns from the public to the rehabber; transporting from the rehabber to the veterinarian; gathering natural forage and delivering to the rehabber; assisting in building isolation pens or enclosures (gathering and building are the exceptions to the mandatory training rule
- Moderate: doing intake on fawns, treating minor injuries, teaching the fawn to nurse formula from a bottle and bucket, transporting to the rehabber who has the permanent enclosure (approximately a week’s commitment)
- Maximum: having the space to build a secluded enclosure where the fawn can grow safely from infancy to release (approximately a 5 month commitment)
If you’re interested in joining the fawn team, please contact us at stegonfarm@netzero.net or call 530-268-7235.
